PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A semi-truck fire and separate wreck shut down part of Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County overnight for more than four hours.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a semi-truck caught fire at the 26 mile marker in the northbound lanes of I-55 around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
This caused traffic to back up. As vehicles were slowing down a second semi-truck ran into the rear of a third semi-truck. This wreck happened closer to the 25 mile marker.
A Highway Patrol dispatcher says there were no injuries in either incident.
The northbound lanes had to be closed for more than four hours to remove the damaged big rigs. As of 5:20 a.m. all lanes of I-55 were open.
