MARION, IL (KFVS) - Firefighters battled a second-story fire overnight in Marion.
Marion fire crews were called to 611 N. Market St. just after 2 a.m. Saturday.
Fire Chief Jack Reed says the fire started on a second-story porch in the building which used to be a business building with apartments up top.
The chief says the apartments were unoccupied and the lower level was being used for storage.
When firefighters arrived the second story of the building was engulfed in flames.
Herrin and Johnston City Fire Departments were called in to help out at the scene and back at the station to answer other calls.
