CHICAGO (CNN) - Record-breaking flooding along the Missouri River is forcing Amtrak to temporarily shut down service between Chicago and Denver.
Expected cresting in the Omaha, NE, area prompted the change, and the shutdown will begin on Thursday.
The disruption is expected to last through June 14.
Amtrak offered an apology to customers on its website.
Travelers with questions about the schedule change are encouraged to contact the carrier by phone, or online at www.Amtrak.com.
