Superman Celebration kicks off in Metropolis

The annual Superman Celebration kicks off today in Metropolis. It's a sign conditions in the flood damaged town are returning to normal.

Last month, flooding caused evacuations and forced the closing of Harrah's Casino. The mayor says the town lost about $18,000 a day while the casino was shut down.

But the town is ready to welcome people and Superman fans from all over the world. About 30,000 people are expected at the four-day Superman Celebration.

The big attraction this year is an appearance by actor Brandon Routh, who played the Man of Steel in the 2006 movie "Superman Returns."
