A Paducah man has been arrested after stating he was robbed at gunpoint while walking in Noble Park Tuesday morning.

Keith Webb, 39, of Paducah was  arrested June 8, 2011 on a charge of falsely reporting an incident.

Webb told police he was walking in the park about 8 a.m. Tuesday when he was approached by a black man, who pointed a handgun at his face and demanded his wallet. Webb said the man then fled on foot through the park, according to the Paducah Police Department.

Six uniformed police officers and Det. Anthony Copeland went to the park to begin a search for the robber and an investigation. After investigating Det. Copeland said that Webb's account of the crime seemed suspicious.

During questioning, police say Webb finally admitted the story was a lie. He was arrested on a charge of falsely reporting an incident and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
