The video profile will be posted shortly after it airs in the newscast.
The Heartland has firm roots in the agricultural industry. While some have moved on to other industries, there are still those that continue the proud farming tradition. With their intelligent minds and quiet thoughtfulness, farmers persevere through wars, great economic strife, domestic turmoil, foreign policy mistakes, droughts and floods. Farmers aren't quitters. They are the dedicated stewards of the land and animals that provide our area with food, clothing, building products, and much more. In addition, farmers are the first ones you will find helping their neighbor when the need arises.
Thomas Jefferson wrote, "Let the farmer forevermore be honored in his calling, for they who labor in the earth are the chosen people of God." And so to, we look to honor the base of our economy, these strong agriculturalists.
