PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A McCracken County teenager was arrested Thursday after officers found a stolen pickup truck abandoned at the dead end of Memorial Drive in Paducah.
Tyler Cope, 19, of Paducah was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property and 1st degree possession of a controlled substance along with warrants charging him with probation violation, theft by unlawful taking and three counts of contempt of court, according to the Paducah Police Department.
Police were patrolling near Pecan Dr. and Buckner Ln. when they saw a pickup that had been reported stolen on Tuesday. The deputies found it a few minutes later abandoned.
Police used K-9 units to track the teen who police say was in the truck. Cope was found by police in a wooded area near Heartland Worship Center. Police say he refused to surrender and was apprehended by the K-9.
Cope was booked by the McCracken County Jail.
