The Tuesday night storms knocked out power to thousands in the Heartland. Crews worked overnight to restore power to many, however as of Wednesday morning, many were still in the dark.
At 7:00 a.m. Ameren Illinois reporting thousands of people without power in the Carbondale, Centralia and Marion areas. Ameren Missouri still reported outages in portions of Cape, Scott, Dunklin and Iron counties. Many in that coverage area were restored overnight though.
Glen Cantrell with Semo Electric also reported that crews with the company restored power to more than 2,000 customers overnight.
Cantrell says around midnight there were just under 3,000 outages in their coverage area.
Semo Electric serves portions of Scott, Cape, Bollinger, Mississippi, Stoddard and New Madrid counties.
