MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - According to Kentucky State Police, detectives are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains located on April 16, 2011 near Paducah.
Turkey hunters found the remains in a heavily wooded area off of Bryant Ford Road in southern McCracken County on Saturday afternoon.
Coroners from Graves, Marshall, and McCracken counties assisted the State Police and Marshall County Sheriff's Office at the scene on Sunday.
All that is confirmed right now is that the remains are human. However, positive identification has not been made.
The remains are scheduled to be examined by the State Medical Examiners office in Madisonville on Tuesday.
