FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Officials in West Frankfort are trying to pinpoint who shot a cat with an arrow.

A worker at Franklin County's animal hospital says someone found the arrow found sticking from the black-and-white cat Wednesday.

The arrow did not hit any vital organs, but broke one of the cat's legs.

Officials say the cat had been a stray that had found a home with a rural West Frankfort family.

The cat named "boxer" is recovering.

Just last month in nearby Benton, a puppy named "bullet" was found shot with an arrow in a neighborhood.

That dog has recovered and has been adopted.
