House passes budget deal

WASHINGTON (AP) - The savings may not be all that Republicans wanted, but House Speaker John Boehner says it "halts the spending binge" and starts moving things "in the right direction."

The House has passed the $38 billion package of spending cuts in this year's budget negotiated with the White House and Senate Democrats. The Senate will vote later today.
