Juvenile escapes detention center

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KFVS)- A juvenile escapes from the Jefferson County Juvenile Dentention facitilty on Gold Finch Lane in Hillsboro.

While deputies were responding, they were given a dispatch of the escapee attempting to steal a motor vehicle at the Missouri Division of Family Services Office on Business Route 21 in Hillsboro, Mo.

A Sheriff's Deputy observed the escapee driving on the parking lot in the blue GMC van.

Another Sheriff's Deputy pulling onto the parking lot observed the suspect fleeing in a stolen Blue GMC mini-van.

The suspect turned south on Business Route 21.

Deputies pursued the vehicle with the vehicle reaching speeds of 80-90 mph.

The vehicle at one point traveled into the oncoming traffic lane at which time he side swiped a Ford Ranger pick up truck.

The vehicle was finally stopped on Hwy 21 near Castle Ranch Rd. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
