WHITE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A 17-year-old driver was cited for DUI and other charges after the car she was driving overturned in White County Sunday night.
According to Illinois State Police, a gold, 1997 Ford Taurus overturned on County Road 1600N about one-quarter mile east of County Road 1575N about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The car was traveling westbound on County Road 1600N when the driver lost control of the car when the road turned from pavement to gravel. The car left the roadway to the north and hit a ditch before overturning.
The 17-year-old driver from Arnold, Mo. and a 16-year-old passenger from Pevely, Mo. were taken to Hamilton Memorial Hospital in Mcleansboro with minor injuries.
The driver was cited for DUI, driving too fast for conditions, operating an uninsured vehicle and a child restraint violation. The passenger was cited for failure to wear seatbelt.
