EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, IL (KFVS) - A suspect is behind bars after an hour-long police pursuit that spanned four counties and two states.
Authorities in Union County say the chase started in Grand Tower Friday evening.
According to Grand Tower Police Chief Gary Mellor, it started when he tried to pull over a car for speeding.
The chase ended after Cape Girardeau police used spike strips to blow out the tires of the car.
Police arrested 23-year-old Nathan Hastings after stopping the car in Alexander County.
Police say they found open alcohol containers inside the car. And, Hastings hit a grand tower police cruiser at least once during the hour-long chase.
Hastings faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, according to police.
