Two Massac County residents face drug charges after a Thursday afternoon arrest in Metropolis.
According to Massac County State's Attorney Patrick Windhorst, a traffic stop lead to the search of a vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, Metropolis Police allegedly found several items commonly used to make meth including pseudoephedrine and Draino.
Karen Sharp, 34 of Joppa is charged with possession of methamphetamine precursors and possession of marijuana found when police searched her.
Stevie Moreland, 51 of Joppa is also charged with possession of methamphetamine precursors and possession of a controlled substance. Police allegedly found the prescription drug Percocet on his person when they searched him.
Moreland and Sharp are now being held in the Massac County Jail on $20,000 bond.
The driver of the vehicle, an unnamed 80-year-old man was not charged. Prosecutors say the couple asked him for a ride to the store, but authorities do not believe he was involved in any illicit activity.
