CARTER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - More details have come about in the drug case against former Carter County Sheriff Tommy Adams.

According to the probable cause statement, in Adams' case a confidential informant describes using methamphetamine with Adams every week since July of 2010.

On April 2, that informant took a white powdery substance Adams provided to state investigators, according to court documents.  Those documents show that substance later tested positive for meth.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Sunday that 31-year-old Tommy L. Adams of Ellsinore was arrested on felony charges of distribution, delivery, manufacture or production of a controlled substance.

Adams remains in the Cape Girardeau County Jail on $250,000 cash only bond.
