A Carbondale man pleaded guilty to federal drug charges.
The plea came just moments before Deandre Brown, 31, was to be tried at the federal courthouse in Benton, Illinois. By pleading guilty, Brown admits to being part of a conspiracy to distribute heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine from a mobile home at the Crossing's Trailer Park in Carbondale.
The case dates back to 2009. That's when police arrested Brown.
Sentencing for Brown has been set for July 7. He could get life in prison and a fine of $4 million.
