Calloway Co. woman killed in traffic accident with semi

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A traffic accident has resulted in one woman being killed in Calloway County.

According to KSP Trooper Steve Humphreys, Tammy Y. Lusk, 46, of Almo was going east on KY 1497 (Murray Paris Rd.), approaching the intersection of KY 121, when she made a left turn on 121 and failed to yield the right of way.

Lusk's car was struck in the driver's side door by a tractor trailer driven by Richard A. Williams, Jr., 53, of Creal Springs, Illinois, according to Humphreys.

Lusk was taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased, according to police.

Police say after impact, the tractor trailer overturned and Williams had minor bruising, but refused treatment.

An investigation by Troopers Humpreys and Christopher Anderson and  is continuing, according to police.

All persons involved, police say were wearing seatbelts.
