SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Department of Transportation and Conservation is asking southeast Missouri residents to participate in the 2011 No MOre Trash Bash.
The No MOre Trash Bash is an annual event in April to cleanup Missouri by picking up litter along roadways.
"The Bash is a volunteer effort to help cleanup Missouri and work toward a litter-free state," said Mark Aufdenberg, MoDot Southeast District roadside manager. "Picking up litter is a great way to make a difference in the appearance of the state, as well as take care of the environment."
For those who participate in the 2011 Bash and report their April activity by May 15, each team member who helped cleanup Missouri roadways with receive a No MOre Trash Bash 2011 lapel pin and be entered in a drawing to win a prize pack.
In 2010, Missouri volunteers picked up more than 128,000 bags of trash.
