Police investigate a man stabbed with a screwdriver

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Police in Paducah are looking for a man they say stabbed a man Saturday afternoon with a screwdriver several times.

According to the Paducah Police Department, 29-year-old Darryl Montgomery, of Paducah, stabbed 41-year-old William Johnson, also of Paducah.

Police say Montgomery stabbed Johnson with a screwdriver in the stomach, chest, and back at a home on the 1800 block of Bridge Street at 1:43 p.m. Saturday.

When police arrived at the home on Bridge Street, they found Johnson in a bathtub bleeding from the stab wounds.  Johnson was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers investigating the stabbing say Amanda Montgomery, Darryl Montgomery's wife, arrived at Paducah Police Department telling police her husband was at the house and that Mr. Montgomery assaulted and threatened her.  Mrs. Montgomery fled the home with her children, ages 4 and 1.

Investigators in the stabbing case say they have a warrant charging Mr. Montgomery with first-degree assault.
