Legendary Heartland football coach honored in Scott City

SCOTT CITY, MO (KFVS) - A Heartland high school coach was honored day Saturday night at a gathering at the Knights of Columbus hall in Scott City.

Former Scott City Rams head football coach William Wilthong spent the evening talking to former players and fans.

Earlier this year the school board approved the naming of the high school football field after coach Wilthong.

Coach Wilthong lead to Rams program from 1968 to 1995 winning 166 games.  He was inducted into the Missouri Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
