KSP looking for 5 armed robbery suspects

LYON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Kentucky State Police are looking for five suspects accused of an armed robbery in a hotel parking lot early Friday morning.

A man told police that five men approached him while he was on the phone in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn near Interstate 24 in Lyon County just after 6 a.m. Friday.

The man says one of the suspects had a rifle as the group demanded his wallet.

The suspects left the scene in a red Pontiac sedan.  Video surveillance shows some of the suspects could have been traveling in a gray passenger car.  They are believed to be heading east along Interstate 24 from Lyon County.

The suspects are described as:

  1. Black male approximately 6'0" wearing white T-shirt, black sock cap, and gray sweat pants.
  2. Black male approximately 5'8" -5'11" wearing gray sweat suit and black T-shirt. Shirt possibly had Pittsburgh Steelers logo.
  3. Black male approximately 5'8" –5'11" wearing black hooded jacket, blue jeans, black sock cap, and dark T-shirt.
  4. Black male approximately 5'8"-5'11" wearing gray hooded jacket with blue jean shorts.
  5. Black male approximately 5'8"-5'11" wearing dark jeans, black jacket, and a tan or brown sock cap.

Each suspect is believed to be in their early 20's.  They were seen at a gas station in Grand Rivers, Kentucky before the robbery.

One of the suspects was overheard talking about traveling to Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee, according to KSP.

KSP warns people to use caution as at least one of the suspects is believed to be armed with a rifle.  Call the Kentucky State Police, Post 1, at 270-856-3721 if you have information.
