Overnight fire destroys Portageville apartment

PORTAGEVILLE, MO (KFVS) - Firefighters in Portageville spent a few overnight hours on the scene of an apartment fire.

According to police, the fire was called in at 11:08 p.m. Thursday.

Police say there have been no injuries reported in the fire.

According to Heartland News viewer David Drerup who sent in pictures to cNews, the fire is at the Dogwood Apartments on the 400 block of State Highway 162.

One apartment was gutted by fire.  The other apartments had water and smoke damage.

Those living in the apartment building have moved out.

At this time there is no cause of this fire but it remains under investigation by the state fire marshal.

Portageville Fire Department responded to the fire.  Marston Fire Department provided support.  The scene was clear by 1:30 a.m. Friday.
