Cape Girardeau voters to decide on sales tax extension

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau voters will decide if they want to approve a 20-year extension of a quarter-cent sales tax, and a $72 million bond to pay for a new wastewater treatment plant on April 5.

City officials say Cape Girardeau must have a new facility, and water bills will go up no matter how the vote turns out, but Mayor Harry Rediger says a "yes" vote on both issues should be the least expensive for voters.
