Man arrested for impersonating a peace officer

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - A Carbondale man was taken to jail after he was accused of impersonating a peace officer.

According to Carbondale Police, officers were called to the 500 block of South Wall Street on Sunday for a report of a disturbance.

During their investigation, police said they learned 21-year-old Darron Brown entered an apartment wearing camouflage clothing and carrying what looked like a black hand gun.

Police said Brown told the victim he was a military police officer on official business.

After interviewing Brown, they learned he was not affiliated with any military or law enforcement agency.

Brown faces charges of impersonating a police officer and disorderly conduct.
