MARION, IL (KFVS) - The search continues for Joel Moore who was 28 at the time of his disappearance. The last time anyone saw or heard from Moore was on the evening of March 27, 2010.

Now, after seven years, Moore's family is still looking for him, and anguishing over his disappearance.

"Not a day goes by that it doesn't pop up in your head once or twice," said Nathan Moore.

"For me at least I have work to go to and am able to put it on the back burner a little, but it's been really hard on mom and dad," Nathan Moore added.

During the first year of his disappearance, Moore's family searched the area between Marion and Harrisburg.  A former co-worker spotted Moore heading east on Illinois Route 13.  He was in his 1991 Cadillac Deville, license plate number A369209.

Joel also sent his brother Nathan a text message the night of March 27th, indicating that he was going to "visit old friends" and "would not be home that night." That text was transmitted from a cell tower in the Harrisburg area.  Those are the only clues his family has to go on.

Moore's brother says not having Joel at family events and daily activities is the hardest thing to deal with.

"That's the hardest thing about all of it is we'd spend weekends together. We'd go to eat lunch together, now we don't have that now we're missing that part of it."

And that is why Joel's family is still holding out hope that someone can help them find Joel.

"You can't just vanish, you can't just disappear somebody has to know something. So we're asking that just don't hold it in, do the right thing and give people closure."

Joel has never been heard from again and his vehicle has never been found.

Ground, Air and Water searches have been done over the past seven years. The area searched has been from the Ohio River to Carbondale and several miles North and South of Route 13 with nothing being located.

Another search of the River is anticipated being completed during the summer of 2017 when hopefully the water level is low.

Joel left all his clothes and other belongings at his brother’s residence except his bottle of contact lense cleaner.

There hasn't been any activity on his bank accounts or cellular phone since his disappearance.

If you have any information on Joel Moore's whereabouts you're asked to call the Williamson County Sheriff's office at 618-997-6541.  You can also post any information on this web site www.helpfindjoel.com
