CALDWELL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - KY 91 is back open after a tandem hopper truck hauling explosive material overturned.

Charles Wilkerson, 35, of Dawson Springs, Ky. was operating a 2007 Mack truck northbound on KY 91 about three to four miles north of Princeton.

The truck was hauling ammonia nitrate, emulsifier, and blasting caps, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the road and Wilkerson overcorrected and brought the vehicle back onto the roadway.

The truck traveled into the southbound lane where Wilkerson overcorrected again.  Then, the load shifted and the truck overturned.

The truck came to rest on its driver's side blocking both lanes of travel.

Wilkerson was taken by ambulance to the Caldwell Medical Center for treatment.  He was wearing his seatbelt.

Detours were set up both north and south of the scene.

Traffic should be back to normal between Princeton and Fredonia.
