CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) – Fire crew battled a blaze near a state park.
Fire crews from Fruitland and North Cape fought a fast spreading forest fire near the Trail of Tears State Park Sunday evening, in Cape Girardeau County.
According to firefighters on the scene the fire could have been a lot worse due to the windy conditions.
The two acre blaze started on the side of the road on Highway 177 around 5:30 Sunday evening. It took fire crews an hour to contain the blaze.
No word on what started the fire and no structures were in danger of the blaze.
