Domestic dispute leads to man's capture, had 3 warrants

SCOTT CITY, MO (KFVS) – A domestic dispute in Scott City has led to police putting a man behind bars.

On March 20, 2011, a call came in to police for a domestic dispute on Perkins St. near the intersection of Oak St., according to Scott City Police Officer Dan McMichael.

Police say a man in his late 20s was with his ex-wife at a residence, and when police arrived he went out the back door fled the home.

Scott City officer Tom Beardsley brought out a canine to help assist and locate the man.

The police dog discovered the man in a creek about 100 yards away from the house. The man jumped up and that's when Scott City officers grabbed him, according to McMichael.

McMicheal says he man was being held in Scott County Jail awaiting charges out of Scott City.

The man ran from police because of three previous warrants, one local and the other two from the St. Louis area, said McMicheal.
