ELLINGTON, MO (KFVS) - Two people are seriously injured when their Jeep Cherokee catches fire after a crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened just before 4:00 a.m. Saturday on route Route K half a mile east of Ellington.

Troopers say 36-year-old Richard Clubb drove off the right side of the road and hit a tree. Clubb was allegedly not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

A passenger in the Jeep, 32-year-old Jennifer Budzik of Ellington, was wearing a seat belt but was still in the car when it caught fire and burned.

Clubb was airlifted to St. John's Hospital in Creve Coeur. Budzik was taken to Reynolds County Memorial by ambulance.
