Poplar Bluff: Police chase leads to crash

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - A Poplar Bluff police chase ends up with a suspect ramming a patrol car and crashing into a retaining wall.

Mark Dale Hicks, 25, is the suspect, according to Chief Danny H. Whiteley.

According to police, Hicks began the chase at Wal-Mart around 5:30 p.m. on March 17, 2011 and it ended with the crash on 6th and Lester Streets.

The suspect also rammed Officer Jim Gerber's marked patrol car. Gerber did not get injured, said Whitely.

Police are pursuing assault on a law enforcement officer, felony endangering (3) children and numerous traffic charges, according to Whitely.
