Driver injured in possible meth lab explosion near Farmington

By Heartland News

FARMINGTON, MO (KFVS) - A man was flown to St. John's Hospital in St. Louis after it's believed a meth lab exploded in his vehicle.

A news release says St. Francois County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a person on fire on State Route D in rural St. Francois County just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.  Witnesses reported seeing the man removing his burning clothes and returning to a vehicle, where he reportedly continued northbound on Route D, driving from the passenger's side.

Investigators found a man at a home on Rouggley Road with severe burns over a large portion of his body.

The man's name was not released, as no charges had been filed pending an investigation by the St. Francois County Sheriff's Office and the Mineral Area Drug Task Force.
