Electricity restored in Fruitland area

by Heartland News

FRUITLAND, MO (KFVS) - After spending hours in the dark, people in the Fruitland-Millersville area should have electricity again.

According toe Barb Casper, with Citizens Electric Corporation an insulator failed and burned through a wire around 6:20pm Monday.

That burned wire caused the power in the area to go out.  Casper says several hundred people ended up in the dark when it did.

She says, to make matters worse, today's rainy weather created a muddy situation near the site of the outage and crews had a hard time getting to the scene.

Casper says the electricity came back on around 8:55pm Monday.
