Poplar Bluff Police Chief, Danny Whiteley, tells us the crash happened at the intersection of Business 67 and Kanell near the school around 6:30 a.m. Monday.  Police say a truck slammed into the front right corner of the bus near the door.

The driver of both the school bus and the truck were injured and taken to a local hospital.  The bus driver was shortly released from the hospital with minor injuries.  There is no word on the extent of the truck driver's injuries.

The bus was able to be driven from the scene.  The truck involved in the crash had to be towed.  Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Poplar Bluff Superintendent Chris Hon says some of the kids returned to school, while others were a little rattled, and went home.
