JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Farmers from southern Illinois and southeast Missouri fired up their old tractors Saturday afternoon for a good cause.
The Jackson County Young Farmers hit the streets on March 12, 2011 for a leisurely 25 mile drive on their tractors.
The group used the tractor run to raise money for Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
"We were trying to think of another event we could do to incorporate playing with our old tractors and do something good for the community," said Gary Tretter. "So, we decided to have this tractor drive and donate all the proceeds to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital."
The tractor run raised more than $850.
This event was such a success that organizers plan to have another run in the future.
