Voter's candidate forum held in Marion for mayor, city council

MARION, IL (KFVS) - Voters will head to the polls in less than a month for the general election and in Marion today, voters met their candidates for mayor and city council.

A town hall forum hosted by the Marion tea party patriots gave candidates a chance to answer some key questions about Marion's future in front of a packed house.

Candidates also spoke about how they would help the city grow if they're elected.

"Part of the tea party's agenda is to educate voters," said Pam Ward with the Marion Tea Party Patriots.  "We felt it was very important for the community to have a chance to see them all together, get to hear them talk, introduce themselves and to explain their platforms--just get to know them."

This was the first and only public forum for the Marion candidates.
