Police investigate burglary at Patrick Furniture

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau police are investigating a report of a burglary at Patrick Furniture on Kingshighway.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. on March 8, 2010.

The burglar entered the business through an air vent on the roof and repelled downward with a rope, according to General Manager Pat Young.

"You feel violated, then you just feel mad," said Young. "I don't understand why anyone would do this."

Young said the burglar knocked out a wall to enter the store.  The store's surveillance cameras captured part of the entry.

The burglar tried to destroy one camera and smashed surveillance equipment in the office, but the hard drive was spared.

The man took papers out of the safe, and took several hundred dollars from a desk drawer.
