DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder is warning people in the county about workers wanting to scam them out of their money.
There are reports of persons wanting to resurface your driveway for one price and when they finish they bill they quote you a higher price, said Holder.
They start off by quoting a price per gallon for the material and when the workers finish they say that they are using a higher number of materials, according to Holder.
The sheriff is warning anyone having general repair work done on their driveway or roof should first check out the contractor's history and to call your local police if you have been taken by these scammers.
A good idea is to get references on any contractors and to follow up on the workers qualifications, said Holder.
