Arrest made in Cape Girardeau KFC robbery

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with a robbery at the Cape Girardeau KFC restaurant.

Anthony Eugene Smith, 19, of Cape Girardeau is charged with robbery in the first degree, armed criminal action, and resisting arrest.

Police say the suspect will be charged with first degree robbery later Wednesday morning.

The robbery took place shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday at the KFC store on William Street.

Police arrested the suspect a short time later.

His bond is $100,000 cash only.

Smith was taken to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department.

No one was hurt during the robbery.
