MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A man wanted by the McCracken County Sheriff's Department in connection with stolen property has turned himself in.

Dennis J. Shirley Jr., 53, turned himself over to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department on March 8, 2011, according to the department.

It was first believed that the man was with his brother Scott D. Shirley II, 21, which had no outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to police.

Dennis Shirley was served a warrant in connection with property that had been reported stolen from a burglary in 2010, according to Detective Greg Moyers with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was able to provide serial numbers for the missing items.

Investigators say those numbers were key in the investigation.

Just a few months ago, officers discovered one of the stolen items had been pawned by Shirley.
