JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) – An early-morning traffic crash puts one man behind bars on weapons charges.
According to Jackson County Deputy Delano Scott, officers were called to a traffic crash at 2:14 a.m. Sunday on US 51 just south of Airport Road.
When officers arrived, they found a gray Saturn just off the road and a red Dodge Durango off the road in a wooded area.
The occupants of the Durango had minor injuries, but refused medical attention.
The driver of the Saturn, Skyler Droll of Carbondale also refused treatment.
Officers say in talking to witnesses and investigating Droll's vehicle, they discovered a loaded handgun inside the Saturn.
Deputies arrested Droll for driving under the influence of alcohol and unlawful use of weapons.
Droll was realeased from the Jackson County Jail on bond later Sunday morning.
