WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Murphysboro man goes from the hospital to jail after two armed robberies in Williamson County.

Police say 38-year-old Shawn Lotus Lockard robbed two businesses December 20 by threatening workers with a screwdriver and wrench.

Officers say Lockard went into the Liquor Box between Marion and Johnston City and took $15 dollars from an employee.

Officers say his next stop was the Gas Mart in Herrin where officers say he got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Just a few hours later a possible drug overdose led police straight to Lockard where they first took him to the hospital.

Lockard was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
