RED BUD, IL (KFVS) - Police arrested a Red Bud man accused of sexually attacking a woman when she went for a jog.

Mateo Gomez-Rosete is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

A 51-year-old woman Red Bud resident was jogging in the 1000 block of Locust Street at 1:50 a.m. on October 6 when a man started to jog alongside her and began to touch her, according to the Red Bud Police Department.

The woman runs marathons and ran at night to avoid traffic, according to Red Bud Police.

When the woman resisted, the suspect dragged her into a nearby bean field and assaulted her, according to police.

The woman walked to a foundry where employees called 911.

One of the employees followed the suspect until officers arrived.  Red Bud Police say Gomez-Rosete was intoxicated when he was arrested.

Gomez-Rosete is being held without bail in the Randolph County Jail.
