Man sentenced to nearly 4 years for 5 bank robberies

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - A Cape Girardeau man was sentenced to nearly four years in prison for robbing five banks.

Keiran D. Pippins, 18, pleaded guilty to robbing three banks in Georgia and two in Cape Girardeau during a six week period from October 13, 2009 to November 23, 2009.

Pippins tried to rob the First State Community Bank at 2527 William Street in Cape Girardeau on November 23, 2009.  Police caught him and another suspect.

Pippins also admitted to previously robbing the Capaha Bank.

In addition to his 46 month sentence, Pippins was order to pay restitution of $22,364 and serve three year of supervised released.
