BOLO TOWNSHIP, IL (KFVS) - Lightning caused an oil tank fire in Washington County, Ill. Friday morning.

Nashville Fire Chief Alan Hohlt says crews were called out at 6:10 Friday morning after lightning struck an oil tank battery which stored five or six tanks.

The heat and flames were too intense to get close, so crews had to let the fire burn out.

It took two and a half hours to get under control.

The tanks were owned by Woods Energy Company in Mount Vernon.
