By Heartland News

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear traveled to McCracken County Wednesday morning to break ground on a new bridge over the Tennessee River.

It will replace the Ledbetter Bridge that opened almost 80 years ago.

The bridge connects US 60 over the river between McCracken and Livingston counties.

The new bridge will be four lanes wide with a five foot shoulder.

The project will cost almost $95 million.  It's expected to take three years to complete.
