HARRISBURG, IL (KFVS) - One of the charges against former Saline County chief deputy has been amended.
Todd Fort is now charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault after it was alleged a sexual act caused bodily harm to the victim.
Fort faces several charged of sexual assault and official misconduct.
Prosecutors say the charges stem from incidents between Fort and a 17-year-old girl who worked at the Saline County Sheriff's Department.
Fort worked for the Saline County Sheriff's Department for 21 years.
He also serves as President of the Harrisburg School Board. The board has asked him to resign. Fort's attorney says Fort will submit his resignation from the Harrisburg School Board before their next scheduled meeting on Sept 21.
