This marks the 88th year the Du Quoin State Fair has opened it's gates to Illinoisans. "Usually the fair brings in between 300 to 350-thousand people, this year's advance ticket sales are 30-percent ahead of last years sales," said John Rednour Jr. the fair manager. "So we're expecting close to 400-thousand people this year. It's going to be a good one," Rednour added. There's more than a hundred different food vendors and Rednour says there's headline acts slated for the grandstand stage, sure to please everyone's musical appetite. "We've got Lee Ann Womack, The NItty Gritty Dirt Band, Dierks Bentley, The Phelps Brothers and more than fifty free shows for folks to enjoy," Rednour said.
