LIVINGSTON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Livingston County High School student was killed in a crash Thursday morning, according to the Livingston County coroner.

Austin Crouch, 16, was driving westbound on KY 70 near Smithland when he crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Billy Mitchell.

Crouch's pickup truck overturned.  Livingston County Coroner Jeff Armstrong pronounced Crouch dead at the scene.

A passenger, 16-year-old Jody Rogers, in Crouch's truck was taken to a local hospital, treated and released.

Crouch was a sophomore at Livingston Central High School.

Mitchell was cited for no medical card and for not having a periodic inspection.

The cause of crash is still under investigation, according to Armstrong.

Everyone was wearing a seatbelt.
