Teen pop video may encourage kids to call phone sex chat line

By Stephanie Byars and KSLA

Your kids usually like to listen to young pop stars. It's something you may not think you need to monitor because most of the songs are harmless. But it seems one popular teen pop video should get your attention.

It's Jessica Jarrell's "Almost Love" song and video.

The concern here is the teen artist singing the praises of what turns into a child sex chat phone line. It's a line that millions of kids seems to be dialing.

Jessica Jarrell is only 15-years-old and is new on the pop music scene. But her message of teenage love in this song is nothing new. It's what's at the end that's causing concern.

In the video she sings numbers. Some parents who have listened to the song say they are body measurements. That's not the bad part.

It's near the end when a phone number is sung about and shown on the screen. We called the number and it goes to a teen chat line which at first is very innocent.

But within minutes the parents heard something very shocking.

"Press one to listen to a message from Jessica ... or press 2 to hang out with the other callers."

If you press 2 you get into a recorded message area that has some disturbing messages from and about children.

A message we heard almost immediately was, "I'm 18 and I'm really horny and I'm looking for hot horny girls."

Then there was this message, "I'm gay. I'm looking for a guy 14 to 23."

On another message we heard what sounded like a child leave her phone number for anyone to call back.

Jessica's record label is Island Def Jam, so far they have not commented on the controversy.
